What is Tele-Medicine?

Tele-Medicine allows you to discuss symptoms, medical issues, and more with a healthcare provider in real-time utilizing video conferencing technology. Using Tele-Medicine, you can receive a diagnosis, learn your treatment options, and get a prescription.

What do I need for a Tele-Medicine visit and how do I schedule it?
  1. -Active Patient Portal Account or the Healow app. Download the Healow app from the iOS or Google Play store and use practice code AEGGBD.

-High Speed Internet connection.

-Recent Windows / Mac Computer with Web Cam, Microphone and Speakers. (Or Headset).

-Signed Tele-Medicine consent Form.

-Our staff will check your insurance eligibility and confirm the appointment. You will receive an email confirmation about your Tele-Medicine visit with a link to begin the visit.

-If a co-pay or deductible applies, our staff will contact you to collect the payment prior to the visit. Medicare is temporarily covering Tele-Medicine visits.

How do I begin a scheduled Tele-Medicine visit?

-Please login to the Patient Portal or the Healow app up to 30 min prior to your scheduled appointment time.

-Navigate to your Appointments tab, and click on Join TeleVisit button.

-Enter your vitals if available, and click on Submit Vitals button.

-Go through the TeleVisit System Compatibility Check to ensure your TeleVisit can go smoothly.

-Click on Proceed, and then Start TeleVisit.

-Doctor will get a notification that your are online, and will review your chart and then join the Tele-Visit.

Ensure you are using Google Chrome if utilizing a computer

Check your internet connection speed at www.speedtest.net. To ensure a optimal connection, speed of at least 30 Mbps down and 6 Mbps up is required

When is it appropriate to schedule a Tele-Medicine Visit?

-Tele-Medicine visits are can be appropriate for a variety of care needs for our current clinic patients.

-Urgent care illnesses such as respiratory infections, allergies, cold symptoms, rashes, urinary tract infections, and COVID-19 screening.

-Chronic disease management such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Thyroid disease, and Anxiety / Depression.

-Reviewing Test and / or Lab results.

-Most major Medical Insurances and some Medicare plans are currently covering Tele-Medicine / Virtual visits.

When is it not appropriate to schedule a Tele-Medicine Visit?

-New clinic patients. At this time, we are not accepting new clinic patients.

-Annual visits or Physicals.

-Certain illnesses such as cold symptoms which are not improving, abdominal pain, joint pains / strains etc.
